| Shooting Blanks is one of Chicago's best-kept secrets right now and this DVD will show you just why that is. There are two sections, the videos and extras. The videos are fun to watch because the songs are good and catchy and each video is like a little movie. Unlike most unsigned bands that record themselves playing live and call it a video, Shooting Blanks actually makes true music videos with a story line. I think that "Louder" is their best one and shows their personality better then the others, but it is the extras that shine through on this collection. The Promo video is classic Shooting Blanks and will introduce you to all aspects of the bands personalities, not to mention watching Deech break his pelvis dancing at a wedding and cut open his hand in "Deech Tales." The making of the videos shows the efforts that a band can put into making quality videos and at the same time have fun. This is a DVD for any fan of good old-fashioned pop-punk music. Bands can also take a note from these guys on how to make a good music video. (JK) | |
