6/8/12 - We have some good news and some bad news for you. Let's set the bar low and start with the bad news...
...The bad news is that we've decided to re-kindle the old flame for yet another "one-night-only" reunion show. Sorry, everyone - I know we do this every few years or so and say it's the last one. We really think we mean it this time. Thankfully, the good news far outweighs the bad. Here's the good news!...
...First, unlike most other bands, we haven't been "hard at work in the studio writing some new material", nor are we "excited to show off all the great new songs live". This show will be a power-set of only the finest SHOOTING BLANKS super-hits that you've grown to know and love!
...Second, we're sharing the stage with some great bands and old friends. Namely, Black Sunday (from Kentucky), Gunner's Daughter, and (it wouldn't be a SHOOTING BLANKS show without) After The Fight!
...Third, it's at our dingy punk rock home-away-from, THE MUTINY! Which means gallons of cheap booze and, of course, the show will be FREE!!!

4/12/12 - We just crushed our previous record of 13 update-less months. This marks the first you've heard from us in over three years!!! We are truly living out our moniker as "the band that wouldn't die". But it's been a busy three-years. We've been in the studio and working on tons of new material...
...Nah - just kidding. Really we've just been getting old and fat and lame. Deech got married...to a girl! Brey had a kid through real male-to-female conception. Hoffman went on another TV show. And Scotty managed to keep his current girlfriend past the typical 72-hour shelf life.
But the main reason for this update is that, by popular demand, SHOOTING BLANKS will be reuniting for yet another "final reunion show!". We'll be sharing the stage with Black Sunday and some other special surprise guests. Full details will be announced in the upcoming months. In the meantime, follow us on Twitter, as we'll be giving away old SHOOTING BLANKS junk to our loyal Twitter folowers leading up to the show. Mention that you read this news post, and you'll really get on our good side!

1/27/09 - We've set a new record at over one year without an update. That's quite an accomplishment. I know you all thought SHOOTING BLANKS was dead, but like a merry band of drunkPunk zombies, we have risen from the proverbial dead...
It's been a long couple years. In our time not as a band, SHOOTING BLANKS (along with the help of F-Bomb Records) has been selling records worldwide (both online and in retail) and have had their music on a number of top-rated national television programs. We have continued our media blitz with overseas reviews and interviews. It's safe to say that our successes NOT as a band have far outweighed our successes AS a band. Stop following your dreams, kids!...
Anyway, we're back. Temporarily, at least. Two super-shows, and then we fall back into mysterious mediocrity. Right now there's just some teaser info posted, but stay tuned for further information. Thanks for sticking around, superFans!!!...

12/12/07 - Can it be true? Another NEW news update?! Yes, kids - our latest CD "You're Not Gonna Want To Hear This..." has been officially released by F-Bomb Records!!! It makes the perfect stocking-stuffer or egg nog coaster over the holidays, so be sure to pick up your copy today! We will be getting distributed nationally, and in February our CD will be released in Japan! It's been over four years since "Ignore Me" scored as a number one chart-topping hit in Japan, so we're all very excited to conquer that goofy little country one more time...

12/15/06 - No one thought it would last six years, but the dream is finally over. SHOOTING BLANKS has offically decided to call it quits. It was an amicable split, which was followed with a lot of "post break-up" sex. Anyway, we have literally only FIVE SHOWS left, so you better get your asses out to EVERY ONE OF THEM! Especially our HUGE blowout show in March. No excuses - clear your calendars now. It's been a crazy ride, superFans - thanks for everything!...

Also, son't forget to head out TONIGHT to our badass CD RELEASE SHOW at The Abbey Pub! 8/18/06 - I'm not sure why, but things seem to be rolling along pretty nicely over here at CAMP SHOOTING BLANKS. We just got off of playing a great show with one of our favorite bands Local H. Not a day later, we've been asked to share the stage with the legendary Vanilla Ice! And now (again, only days later), we find out that we'll be playing with Less Than Jake, The Loved Ones, and Catch 22! And in the midst of it all, throw in an awesome FREE Double Door show with an amazing lineup! There's no reason not to come out to EVERY one of these shows, cuz they'll all be super-badass. In other news, we've officially booked studio time for mid-October, so expect the new album to definitely be coming out in November. Just in time for Christmas! It's sure to make the perfect gift!!!...

7/6/06 - I'm not sure what's more amazing - the fact that I've decided to finally write a news update, or the fact that our FIRST VIDEO OFF OF OUR NEW ALBUM IS DONE!!! Check out the SHOOTING BLANKS VIDEO JUKEBOX for the new video "It's So Easy" (and yes - those ARE our actual fathers in that video) . The new album is coming along well, and should hopefully be out in September. We've got some great shows coming up too, so please try to make it out!...

5/8/06 - We've been chosen as one of four bands this week to compete in Q101's Local Music Mailroom. Please CLICK HERE to vote for us EVERY DAY this week. You have to register, but it's free and it will really help us out. We have a one-in-four chance of winning, so SHOOTING BLANKS has a better chance of succeeding in this competition than Scotty does of staying in this band!...
In other news, we're finally playing a much anticipated ALL-AGES show! It's on Mother's Day too, and there's no better way to say "I love you" to the woman who bore you in her womb for nine-months than to take her to see SHOOTING BLANKS!...

3/16/06 - Happy New Year!!! Now that we've settled into 2006 (it takes some of us longer than others), it's time to get back in gear. SHOOTING BLANKS has a lot of good things in store for you for the upcoming year. For starters, a NEW album! We'll be hitting the studios for (hopefully) an early-summer full-length release. You can preview two of the new tracks off the forthcoming release on our MySpace profile. I have also finally gotten around to the long-overdue task of updating all of our streaming audio links with snazzy futuristic media players, so that they acutally ::gasp:: "work"!...
